There is no question that Christ was the Son of God before Creation, any less so than He is now God because after His Glorious Ascension He returned to the heavenly places where He sits at the right hand of the Father where He ever intercedes for us. However He lay down His Deity when he became flesh, born of Human mother Mary, all be it conceived by the Holy Spirit. If He were in any way God during His earthly ministry there would have been no merit in His servitude, suffering and human pain unto death. He was only able to experience all these things as the Son of Man, not as the Son of God. There would have been no merit in being tempted in as many points as us and yet was without sin to be acceptable to God as the Lamb of God, if He was in any part God. All Scripture is the inerrant and inspired Word of God but we are not to understand this with our mind, it is to be a heartfelt or Spiritual acceptance. The truth is therefore the truth, the Biblical truth and not the result of theological debate.

There is no question about it, Jesus was God and is God but I believe there is a grave misunderstanding of His time on earth in the flesh.
How do you explain such scripture as Hebrews 2:7 which also references Psalm 8:5 stating "Thou hast made Him for a little while lower than the angels;..."
Or what about James 1:13 which says "Let no one say when he is tempted, "I am being tempted by God"; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone."
Jesus was notorious for His use of parables and I believe that the last supper was His explaination of who He was on earth from what was written in John 13:1-20, more specifically verse 4 which says He "rose from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself about." and also verse 15 which says "For I gave you an example that you also should do as I did to you." What He did was remove the clothes of a Lord and Teacher and took on the clothes of a servant; very symbolic of Him being sent to earth in the flesh.
If the Bible does not contradict itself (which it does not), then there are flaws in your theory of the divinity of Jesus. Jesus was God and is God, of that there is no disagreement; but His time on earth was different and that is what makes it so powerful. God can do anything, He is all powerful, but what if He did it without His abilities and instead did it with no more than just the human flesh and all it's weaknesses? Now THAT would be a powerful statement and golly isn't that what christianity is all about, to be like Christ? That would make it too possible then and we would have no excuse for our sinful nature; nah I guess that is too much to be responsible for so let's just say Jesus was able to do what He did because He was God and flesh at the same time, then we can justify our sinfullness and be able to sleep at night yay! Believe what you will but there is only one truth, and the real truth does not contradict itself.

Jesus DID teach that we should worship Him...to declare that He didn't is either ignorance or intentional deception. When people fell at the apostles feet to worship them, how did they respond? They said, "We are but men..." When John fell at the feet of an angel to worship him, the angel corrected him. When someone fell at the feet of Jesus, He taught that it was right...He affirmed it...by not correcting that which was proper.

Jesus christ is Lord one given authority. God the Father is greater. For Jesus himself stated in Luke 18:19 Why do you call me good there is only one who is good. that is God. Secondly: Jesus stated that
"My Father is greater than I." - Jesus. (John 14:28) jesus being taught as an equal with God the Father is false teaching. Jesus that the works he did was in fact the invisible God who did these works through him. Jesus being sinless was not seperated from God. So god was able to manifest through jesus so people could see who he is. Also remember the signs and wonders in christ ministry did not begin until after the baptism of the holy spirit. When it comes to worship jesus didnt teach us to worship himself. He said we ought worship the Father ...For it is the father that seeking them that worship him in spirit and in truth. john 4:23 .....why do christians have to complicate things. it so simple do as he said to do and stop listening to all of these blind preachers. for jesus says he is our only teacher. The truth the way the light. Gods messiah messenger.

I vehemently disagree with Victor's comment "A person who do(es) not believe in the deity of Christ can be called Christian." Not to believe in the deity of Christ is to deny the holy Trinity. If there is no Trinity there is no Christian faith. Not to believe that Jesus is God is to consider Jesus less than God. To be less than God is not to have the fullness of the deity dwelling in Jesus bodily. Yet according to Colossians 2.9 this is precisely the case. To have the fullness of God requires that Jesus have every attribute that God the Father has, including the ability to create. If he is not God, he is a creature, he is made, even if he is an angel. One who is made is necessarily less than the one who made him. He might possess all the attributes of the one who made but he would lack the ability to make or create HIMSELF.

If Jesus is less than God what is he? The JWs say "a mighty angel." Muslims say he is a "Messenger of God," but messenger is but another translation of "angelos." Muslims teach that Jesus was only a precursor to Muhammad, yet Scripture says he is superior to the angels (Heb. 1.4); the angels worship him (Heb. 1.5); the angels are servants, but Jesus has a throne making him King (Heb. 1.8); Jesus sits at the right hand of God but angels do not (Heb. 1.13)
